OBJECTIVE/OVERVIEW: CUHCC’s mission is to seek health equity in our community by advancing the well-being of diverse people. The clinic is known for providing high quality care to diverse patients and is moving forward in improving timely access to care for patients. This position will be a goal-oriented, revenue-driven, highly accurate and motivated Dental Biller. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: review and submission of claims, consistent follow up on unpaid claims, filing appeals when appropriate to obtain maximum reimbursement and establish and maintain strong relationship with providers, clients, patients, and fellow staff.
1. Billing/Accounts Receivable: (90%) a) Working knowledge of Dental claim submission and reimbursement. b) Understanding of Government program guidelines on claim submission and reimbursement. c) Verification and follow up of provider documentation for completeness and accuracy for all claims prior to submission. d) Prepare and submit clean claims to various insurance companies. e) Timely follow up on insurance claim denials, exceptions or exclusions. f) Reading and interpreting insurance explanation of benefits. g) Utilizing aging accounts receivable reports to follow up on unpaid claims aged over 30 days. h) Make necessary arrangements for medical records requests, completion of additional information request, etc., as requested by insurance companies and other entities. i) Provide patients, providers, and clinic staff explanation of account balances, payment history, and insurance coverage as related to the Dental Department. j) Regularly meet with Billing Manager to discuss and resolve reimbursement issues, billing obstacles and billing trends. k) Regularly attending weekly staff meetings and continuing educational sessions as requested. l) Perform additional duties as requested by Supervisor or Management team.

Salary Range: $32,656.00 - $54,932.80
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
1. High school diploma/GED and four years of general accounts transaction experience. Training may be substituted for some of the years of experience. Two years of healthcare claims reimbursement experience which must include a minimum of: (A) Two years of customer service, (B) Two years of processing claims for a health-care entity, (C) One year in electronic claim adjudications, (D) Two years of computer experience in a professional working environment. 2. Demonstrated proficiency in working with computerized billing software, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and other programs. 3. Experience in filling dental claims and appeals with insurance companies to ensure maximum entitled reimbursement
**A negative TB test is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Aptitude and/or interest in working with Medical, Dental, and Behavioral Health patients, providers, clinic staff, and insurance companies on the phone in billing office setting and/or in person within a clinic setting. 2. Dentrix software experience. 3. Knowledge of Dental treatment plan and authorizations. 4. Minimum of 40 wpm typing speed and 10-key by touch. 5. Fluency in one of CUHCC’s predominant patient languages (Spanish, Somali, Vietnamese, Lao, Hmong) 6. Experience working in a community clinic
