Successful candidate will participate in execution of information technology and selected financial audits at the company’s business units around the world, complete special projects as assigned and perform other duties as necessary. Involves 70% travel, primarily international. Varied responsibilities include:
Plan and execute IT and selected financial audits focusing on a risk-based and analytical approach and communication with relevant parties. Continually re-evaluate this assessment while in the field and respond as appropriate.
Assist in IT risk assessments and short-term and long-term IT audit planning.
Review IT general controls and application controls to identify procedural breakdowns and recommend improvements in design, operating effectiveness and efficiency.
Meet with business unit personnel to discuss initial findings, verify facts, obtain explanations, communicate risks and explore improvement opportunities.
Prepare thorough and organized work papers that provide a good audit trail including testing and supporting documentation.
Draft IT and financial audit findings and recommendations and obtain management’s action plan in response to these items.
Report IT and financial audit results to management, based on high quality audit results and well-crafted audit report deliverables.
Collaborate with financial auditors in order to enhance IT reliance and audit effectiveness.
Maintain internal control system by updating audit programs and questionnaires; recommending new policies and procedures.
Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding industry’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, audit programs and performance standards.
Understand and utilize Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Assist with the review, testing and documenting of IT general controls and procedures and internal controls to assure Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.
Contribute to team results by welcoming new and different work requirements and exploring new opportunities to add value to the organization.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Accounting or related field
CISA or equivalent; MBA, CRISC and/or CPA preferred
3-4 years of relevant information technology and financial audit experience. “Big 4” public accounting firm experience, including experience in information technology and financial audit work extremely desirable
Demonstrated functional auditing knowledge and technical skills
Experience with data analysis using data mining tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively through personal discussions, oral presentations and written reports with all levels of the organization.
Ability to collaborate and support colleagues and peers across the organization, while still being able to work independently.
Ability to develop and incorporate new technologies in the audit process.
Ability to independently review IT general controls, application controls and IT governance, as well as financial controls, going beyond the pure execution of audit program steps, and to provide recommendations to maintain a sound control environment.
Solid project management and risk assessment/management skills.
Ability to reason logically, analyze and evaluate data and information, and draw appropriate conclusions.
Proficiency with TeamMate, and MS Office Suite; familiarity with JD Edwards software and Oracle applications.
Ability to travel extensively (approximately 70% international travel).
