DCH inter-operative staff work as integral part of an interdisciplinary care team to provide individualized family centered care for the pediatric and adult congenital patients in the perioperative setting. We provide care for ambulatory, inpatient, and urgent/emergent surgeries.The RN is responsible for assessing and providing direct patient care in both the circulating and scrub roles.The RN provides care consistent with AORN recommendations and evidence based practices.Nurses our responsible for participating in continuous improvements in our unit to increase the value of care we provide our patients.In the shared governance system, the RN is also responsible for helping grow the nursing profession and guiding the future direction of the unit.

The qualifications for the position are the minimum requirements to be eligible for an interview.The level of required experience and expertise for each posted position is influenced by the current amount of knowledge and skills of the other nurses in the unit/departments.
External applicants- BSN from an accredited school required.
Current OHSU employees: BSN preferred.
Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English.
Basic computer skills including the ability to send/receive email, navigate information technology associated with the position, and use Electronic Health Record information and tools.
Current unencumbered Oregon RN license.
Certification in Basic Life Support.
Minimum of 1year of current (*6 months) perioperative surgical nursing experience
New Grads or Nurses without surgical experience must successfully complete OHSU's Perioperative
2-5 years experience working in a pediatric perioperative setting.
CNOR, experience scrubbing in multiple specialties.
Electronic Health Record (E.H.R) documentation experience (ie., Epic, etc)
Experience in unit-leadership assignments (ie., charge roles, service team lead, etc)
