Advertised Summary Job Description: Reporting to the Project Manager, the Salesforce Architect is responsible for supporting the Office of Alumni and Development (OAD) at Columbia University through the implementation of the Salesforce platform and other key related applications. The individual will work with the Senior Program Manager to maintain and update the project plan, migrate key operational functionalities in a seamless manner for the end user (both alumni and staff), keep deadlines and deliverables on track, and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders with both common and custom needs.
The successful candidate can evaluate client needs, recommend improvements and work with Columbia technical staff. In addition, the individual will work with implementation vendor to develop and implement solutions. Must be detail-oriented, have a clear understanding of CRM systems and data systems, and conduct presentations for senior management and other stakeholders in the Office of Alumni and Development as well as other key program directors across the alumni relations and development community at Columbia.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Assist in leading SFDC implementation for OAD within enterprise Salesforce.com framework. * Elicit and document requirements for new functionality requests from a cross-functional team of Salesforce.com users * Work closely with Enterprise Database and Web team to design, document, and implement specific initiatives to improve data hygiene and security, improve sales team and help desk throughput and efficiency * Provide on-site support and manage access requests to salesforce.com platform * Document specific best practices in release management, SFDC data management, and ongoing improvements to CRM environment * Ongoing Salesforce.com database schema updates and changes * SFDC release management including Sandbox management, change set tracking, and requirement collaboration with software development team within enterprise Salesforce.com framework. * Research add-on application packages and support ROI analysis for acquisition of applicable programs * Design and implement SFDC training programs for various teams and other users * Create documentation, including training documentation and release notes * Assist with scoping and planning of various CRM related projects and initiatives * Train and assist Tier 1 SFDC support staff * Lead "Help Desk" triage and request prioritization, provide Tier 2/3 SFDC support * Perform routine administration functions for Salesforce.com * Comply with all enterprise Salesforce.com governance guidelines.
General Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience in Salesforce administration, or equivalent education and experience. Salesforce.com Certified Administrator (ADM 201) PLUS either Salesforce.com Certified Advanced Administrator (ADM 301) or Salesforce.com Certified Developer (DEV 401) required.
