Rowan University is a public comprehensive state-designated research institution with approximately 16,000 students. The Intensive English Language Program (IELP) is a university-based intensive academic English program serving international and local immigrant students, and whose primary goal is to prepare students for university success.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position reports to the Assistant Director and work closely with the Faculty Lead Instructor of IELP.
Marketing and Recruitment (45%)
?Assist in the preparation of a recruitment plan and strategy that has the support of the senior administration;
?Attend selected recruitment fairs and exhibitions based on the approved strategy;
?Develop an agent/agency network, manage agent/agency relations;
?Help the team to choose the right venue to advertise and generate leads;
?Create a basic CRM (customer relationship management) plan to communicate with prospective students, and optimize the system for international recruitment. Investigate more sophisticated methods to track and continue contact with inquiries;
?Meet with representatives at overseas and domestic high schools and colleges in efforts to further recruitment for the IELP at Rowan;
?Utilize an extensive network of on and off-campus resources including alumni, government organizations, institutional partners, key faculty contacts, to assist in the recruitment effort;
?Ensure that assigned websites and social media content, branding, and marketing messages and materials are created, maintained, updated, and evaluated for effectiveness and efficiency. Examples of projects include but are not limited to, web features for our online magazine, web promos, short-form documentaries, promotional videos, special event videos and interviews and marketing features.
Admission and Registration (30%)
?Assist students through the entire IELP admissions process;
?Assist prospective international students for I-20 completion;
?Participate in the interview portion of the placement testing;
?Assist students with enrollment process in Banner;
?Update & maintain the IELP student database.
Student Services (10%)
?Work closely with the IELP team to ensure a good student experience on campus;
?Collect data and compile reports to document student performance, and provide support and retention services;
?Assist Assistant Director with required students? documentation;
?Assist student navigating and utilizing resources at Rowan University.
?Assist with the office operation.
?Maintain regular training for using and maintaining INB, Banner and the Rowan IELP Website system
Additional duties as assigned.
?Bachelor?s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field;
? One (1) year of experience in marketing, advertising or international student recruitment;
?Familiarity with Adobe Suite: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, Audition, Media Encoder, etc.;
?Knowledge in the use and function of a digital camera, multi-channel audio recording devices, and high quality condenser or wireless microphones;
?Ability to produce, direct, film and edit high quality, compelling audio/visual productions that communicate the Rowan IELP?s mission, educate audiences, and promote various programs;
?Possess strong aesthetic sensibility and understanding of visual composition and appropriate music selection;
?Skill and experience in using HTML;
?Proficient with Microsoft Office software;
?Facility with numbers (and an ability to manipulate numbers in Excel) necessary for analytical work.
?Excellent verbal and communication skills;
?Strong attention to detail, and ability to think strategically;
?Friendly, outgoing, and energetic personality with exemplary interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to handle individuals and large groups;
?Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
?Correct usage of English, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary;
?Demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students;
?Ability to travel 1 month+ a year;
?Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey
?Master?s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field;
?Proficient in a second language, Spanish or Chinese strongly desired.
