To work together with the Marketing team to review and update the Lending Guidelines.
To review the stress test framework and methodology and supervise the performance of the credit stress tests assumptions and results.
To review and refine the credit scoring methodology and introduce new credit program or scoring, where applicable.
On a transaction level, to review and comment on loan proposals/renewals that deviate from the Company's Lending Guidelines, as well as credit proposal where the loan quantum is above an agreed threshold. The threshold would be risk based and different threshold for different industries. Thresholds should be reviewed at regular intervals, at least yearly. Risk Management Committee should be advised of proposed revisions and their rationale. Comments on individual loan proposals should not be repeating of comments already in loan proposal.
To formalize and implement the enterprise wide risk management framework and risk governance to manage and control of all aspects of risks including credit, market & liquidity, and operational risks.
To articulate the risk appetite for the company for the Board's approval and formalize and refine the risk appetite framework.
To recommend appropriate Management Trigger Actions ("MAT") for the respective risk type, which are in alignment with the approved risk appetite for the Company..
To identify, monitor, evaluate the Company's risk exposure and recommend strategies and procedures in mitigating these risks.
Market & Liquidity Risk
To review the reports for the Asset & Liabilities Committee and the analysis provided.
To review the stress test assumptions and methodology and supervise the performance of the liquidity stress tests results.
To review the stress test assumptions and supervise the performance of the interest rate stress tests results.
To review and update the Contingency Funding Plan and co-ordinate the testing of the plan.
To review the operational risk reports for the Operational and Technology Risk Committee.
To oversee the operational risk and control self assessment process and where applicable propose action plan to mitigate the residual risk.
To review the collation of the Operational Loss event and ensure adequate follow up actions are taken, where applicable.
To review and update the Business Continuity Management framework and plan and supervise the testing of the BCP.
To ensure that the new product program process are in place.
At least 10- 15 years' work experience in Risk Management with banks or finance companies
Strong knowledge and willing to be hands-on in terms of credit risk
A degree or professional qualification in Banking and Finance
Sound and independent judgement
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Possesses initiative and is analytical
Keen to learn and keep abreast of the latest developments
Willing to teach and coach staff
