We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Financial Analyst (RED&F).
Position Summary: In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for conducting financial analysis, projects and statistical studies. This position is generally accountable for effectively providing financial management, financial and narrative reporting, training, analysis and communication for all departmental accounts through a collaborative effort with the Business Manager..
Administers accounts payable verifications and ensures accuracy of NYU budget application relevant data for the annual budget process.
Prepares forecast analyses of all departmental accounts.
Maintains a file on each awarded grant account which includes copies of applications award notices, NYU budget allocations and other related administrative material. Maintains a fiscal calendar of upcoming deadlines and pending applications.
Prepares a quarterly financial summary to include current and projected departmental expenses.
Monitors the department's financial status through analysis of accounts and financial reports and convey to the Business Manager on an as needed basis.
Develops or assists in developing data collection and information systems to advise Business Manager on matters of cost effectiveness and operational efficiency of functions.
Prepares analyses of trends of research spending and makes appropriate recommendations. Advises Business Manager of available funding for the recruitment of staff both for the department and grants.
Prepares comparative analyses of departmental accounts both for the school and research for all costs. Submits reports to the Business Manager for review and suggests revisions.
In conjunction with the Business Manager, prepares Departmental budget based on estimated revenue and expense both clinically and for research.
Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or Business and three years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include prior financial analysis experience.
Strong figure aptitude and attention to detail. Excellent analytical, organizational and verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency using spreadsheet, database, word processing software; basic skills for navigating Internet applications.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated proficiency in relevant systems to the NYULMC culture..
