The Program Manager for the Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence (CDME) is responsible for the project management of industry and government funded projects, within the Biomedical Engineering discipline, relating to development and commercialization of new technology through integrated design and manufacturing approaches; works closely with industry partners, CDME engineers, student researcher assistants, university faculty, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are completed in accordance with project milestones, deliverable requirements and within the cost and schedule agreed upon during project scoping; works as an engineer (working manager) on projects using technical expertise which is supportive of the project goals; travels to customer facilities for project meetings and technology implementation programs; in both roles, this position needs to utilize expertise and leadership in determining the most direct path for program success and providing technical solutions for complex problems drawing upon personal experience, Ohio State University faculty, outside sources/suppliers, and staff within CDME; responsible for ensuring that all customer communications are maximizing CDME's brand and core values; communications include proposals, milestone/project reports, meeting management, conference calls, etc.
Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Biomechanical or Biomedical Engineering and 5 years related field experience; 5 years of project management experience in a product development or manufacturing setting; strong written communication skills.
PhD in Biomechanical or Biomedical Engineering and 5 years related field experience highly desired; minimum of 3 years of experience working in an advisory position for university researchers and faculty members preferred.
Target Salary: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 Annually
