QUALITY IMPROVEMENT DEPARTMENT
The Certified CCL Programmer-CHS, leverages the capabilities of the Cerner Millennium System to monitor and improve the quality and safety of the services provided through the comprehensive continuum of health services provided at the Cook County Department of Corrections.
This position is exempt from Career Service under the CCHHS Personnel Rules.
·Performs complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing management reports, and regulatory agency requests.
·Develops programs and methodologies for analyzing, reporting, and presenting data.
·Uses and extends the capabilities of database applications and analytical tools.
·Researches new data sources and analytical tolls.
·Uses training and experience to evaluate and interpret data resources.
·Communicates results to management and internal customers.
·Facilitates satisfactory communication and resolution of problems.
·High School diploma or GED with a minimum of four (4) years computer technical training (must provide proof at time of interview) OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or Mathematics is required. (Must provide official transcripts at time of interview)
·Full-time work experience in SQL or CCL command language is required.
Two (2) years' full-time computer work experience in a healthcare setting (clinic or hospital) is required.
·Cerner Millennium, PharmNet, Discern Explorer and/or PowerChart Office full-time work experience
·Full-time work experience utilizing Command language in the design and implementation of complex data queries and reports
Full-time computer work experience in the public sector, a university, or research center
·Full-time work experience in application programming or system analysis
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
·Knowledge of and skill in the use of SQL or CCL.
·Broad understanding of computer systems including hardware, operating systems, programming languages and data communications.
·Knowledge of relational database design and administration.
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
·Excellent interpersonal skills.
·Ability to troubleshoot.
·Ability to research and analyze system requirements, develop alternatives and implement solutions.
