We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Registered Dietitian.
In this role, the successful candidate will provide support for studies of behavioral interventions to improve health outcomes in persons with Type 2 diabetes and Concurrent Chronic kidney disease. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, creating diet and exercise related behavioral scripted messages in coordination with the intervention dietitian, review of study subject entries in MyNetDiary and selection of appropriate behavioral scripted messages consistent with the goals of the research study and delivered via electronic media. The candidate may be required to screen, recruit and enroll subjects, collect data and administer a technology-supported lifestyle intervention and will ensure the accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPPA and required obligations to patient/subject, Principle Investigator, research team and the Study Sponsor. The candidate will perform duties autonomously and with limited oversight.
Project Implementation and Coordination - Works closely with the Principal Investigator to develop and finalize intervention materials and the intervention protocol. Monitors participant accrual and progress through intervention protocol to ensure milestones are met according to project timeline. Communicates project status to Project Manager and Investigators.
Counseling - Delivers behavioral intervention that involves counseling subjects on weight loss, dietary sodium restriction and restriction of inorganic phosphates in patients with Type 2 diabetes and Concurrent Chronic kidney disease according to study protocol.
Technology-based Self-Monitoring - Assists participants in monitoring dietary intake using mobile technologies and interpreting nutritional feedback provided by the software.
Documentation - Tracks intervention and other research activities in the study tracking system and case report files in an accurate and timely manner.
NYU Office of Clinical Trials/IRB - Ensures the accurate execution of research protocols in accordance with Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA and required obligations to patient/subject, Principal Investigator, research team and the sponsor. Monitors any outward effects or issues regarding patient/subject safety, and reports this to the appropriate party.
Reporting and Data Analysis - Aggregates patient data using the appropriate software, checks data entry for accuracy and completeness, whilst adhering to good clinical practices and policies set forth by NYU School of Medicine and HIPPA to ensure data security.
Study Regulations - Aware of study regulatory status, and keeps an up to date copy of regulatory documents. Monitors any outward effects or issues regarding patient/subject safety, and reports this to the Project Manager/Coordinator.
To qualify you must have a Registered Dietician with a Bachelor's degree.
Experience working as a dietitian.
Two years of experience assisting or conducting research projects in a Healthcare environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications.
Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management, as well as clinic staff and physicians, and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
Time management skills, organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure a must.
Ability to multi-task while paying attention to details.
Renal Dietician with a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences or a related field
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
