The Center for Collaborative Systems for Security, Safety, and Regional Resilience (CoSSaR) is a multi- disciplinary facility and environment where professionals from a wide range of entities (federal, state, county, city, tribal, international, public and private) team with university experts to align strategies, processes and investments in systems for security, safety and resilience.
CoSSaR has an outstanding opportunity for a Program Coordinator.
The CoSSaR Program Coordinator is responsible for public relations, event management, and communications for the Center. This position reports directly to the Center Director.
Public Outreach & Stakeholder Development
Serve as a point of contact for CoSSaR; respond to phone, email and social media inquiries.
Operate as liaison between CoSSaR and partners / stakeholders, including scheduling meetings, and relaying sensitive information across partnerships.
Schedule and manage the quarterly CoSSaR Speaker Series, including planning the event, arranging speaker travel, and developing event promotional materials.
Schedule and oversee CoSSaR promotional workshops, trainings, and public outreach events.
Manage relationship with Advisory Board and plan meetings.
Website & Digital Media Management
Develop and maintain the CoSSaR website on a weekly basis, including adding new content and updating existing content.
Design and maintain social media accounts for CoSSaR.
Develop, track, and maintain digital repertoire for on-going projects (timeline, progress, milestones).
Assist with CoSSaR progress /status reports and study presentations.
Provide administrative assistance to the CoSSaR team for web-based and/or digital based issues.
Promotional Materials & Publications Development
Design and manage CoSSaR promotional materials such as digital content, informational factsheets, brochures, and PowerPoint presentations.
Schedule, prepare and/or assemble necessary materials for meetings, including background information, PowerPoint presentations, agendas, reports, invitations, and catering.
Coordinate logistics, travel and materials.
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in website and social media support OR equivalent education/experience.
Excellent oral, written and design skills, the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, and to relay information accurately using digital communication methods.
Highly organized, resourceful, and independent; strong ability to prioritize, work efficiently, and maintain attention to detail while handling multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Proven customer service orientation with demonstrated interpersonal communication skills.
The ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, and collaborate across the Federal, State, Local, Tribal, International, Public, and Private realms.
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to function cooperatively as a team member.
Ability to exercise good judgment and independently determine appropriate communications and procedures to handle sensitive information with tact, diplomacy, and discretion.
Willingness to actively participate by offering suggestions for improving team efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity.
Experience using digital information sharing tools such as Dropbox, Google Drive, and Encryption (key) based e-mail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Adobe.
Bachelor's Degree AND three years of experience in website and social media support.
Experience with content management systems such as Wordpress.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Requires a set schedule of Monday-Friday, with 40 hours of work to be performed between the hours of 8am-6pm. (Schedule is flexible within that timeframe.) This schedule must be agreed on with the Center Director.
On some occasions, the job responsibility of overseeing CoSSaR promotional events will require evening or weekend work. The Center Director is responsible for identifying which events require the Program Coordinator's presence, and working with the Program Coordinator to appropriately adjust the work schedule.
This position may be subject to successful completion of E-Verify process.
