Posting Summary: The Cancer Center seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator Assistant (CRC Trainee) to be an integral part of the Total Cancer Care Program (TCCP) team.
The ORIEN CRC Assistant provides daily operational support to the TCCP. The incumbent serves as a liaison to administration for issues pertaining to gathering patient informed consent for biospecimen research; and obtaining patient informed consents at the different clinics located within the University of Virginia Health Systems and affiliated sites. The position coordinates work activities with team members; assists in the design of new consenting methods and data processing systems to maintain patient confidentiality; collects, maintains, and analyzes patient research data; prepares reports; maintains supplies and coordinates quality control processes; manages documentation related to patients on clinical trials; and assists with preparation of meeting materials.
Incumbent training includes learning regulatory controls, study procedures, financial responsibility and records management, data management, and protocol compliance and development. Specifically after training, the trainee must demonstrate a basic understanding of the clinical research process and the regulations, both federal and local, governing the conduct of clinical research. The trainee may be non-licensed or licensed and after one year of employment must be evaluated based on criteria included in the offer letter for possible promotion to the next level.
A Bachelor's degree required for non-licensed trainees. Associate's degree or higher required when accompanied by RN licensure for licensed trainees. All degrees and licensures must be received prior to start date.
