DUTIES:JOB SUMMARYReporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition, this position will serve as a Talent Acquisition Manager representing SUNY Downstate Medical Center as a premier employer. The Incumbent will be assigned to a defined grouping of departments and will carry out the management of marketing, search, recruitment, interviews, talent pool development, job offers and retention for assigned candidate searches. The incumbent will manage candidate search by using recruitment techniques that are appropriate for the position and level. The incumbent will work directly with the hiring manager to ensure that positions are filled in a timely manner using staffing sources such as community outreach, social media, job boards, applicant tracking and agencies that best meet the market place requirements for the assigned search. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide high quality, effective, timely and management of the candidate search process.
Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems.
Command of passive and direct search management using recruitment techniques.
Coach and collaboration with Hiring Managers on search areas, interviewing, compensation and management of candidates. Provide excellent customer service internally and externally (hiring management, candidates and colleagues).
Organize and manage marketing of SUNY Downstate at Career Fairs and Colleges/Universities as a premier employer.
Create partnerships with community and professional organizations to network with candidates and contacts.
Ensure that recruiting cycle is completed timely and properly to retain candidates throughout the process.(DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION)QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree (4 year degree from accredited college or university) in Business Management, Human Resources, Communications or an equivalent field of study with preferred working experience in a Government Agency, University, Hospital or Healthcare setting. 5 – 10 years working in a Recruitment, Talent Management or HR function in a professional role. Excellent written and verbal communications using skills in emotional intelligence and coaching to influence and consult with partners and management. Demonstrated knowledge of the use of social media with applications to staffing (i.e. twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook). Certifications or membership in Society for Human Resources Management, American Staffing Association, NAPEO, etc. along with working knowledge of up to date search, interviewing and selection techniques.
