This position is responsible for compliance with federal and state equal opportunity and affirmative action laws and regulations. The incumbent will manage all of the affirmative action activities of the office, will share responsibility for ADA compliance, and will oversee the data management, reporting, data analysis and evaluation functions of our equal opportunity and Title IX compliance. This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to lead teams of colleagues from other offices. Ability to develop rapport with employees at all levels of the university is critical to success in this role.
Salary: Grade 75
Master's degree or Juris Doctorate degree. Minimum five years experience in equal opportunity, affirmative action or related work, e.g., HR. Experience in higher education preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Deep working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing equal opportunity and affirmative action obligations, including but not limited to Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, Title IX, VAWA, Clery, and the regulations promulgated by the OFCCP. Ability to manage complex and highly sensitive issues with a high level of professionalism. Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect employee privacy. Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of community members. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to quickly learn to use unfamiliar software and programs.
