The Department of Laboratory Medicine serves as a regional resource for clinical laboratory services required for patient care, research and educational programs in laboratory medicine. Our Laboratory Medicine-Reference Laboratory Services has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time (75%) Messenger - Driver (Courier). This person will drive a passenger automobile to transport laboratory specimens, supplies and other designated materials between UWMC and multiple medical facilities within the range of Olympia to Bellingham and Eastern Washington. Requires walking between car and designated room at each location.

Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license.
Driving and/or delivery experience in the greater Puget Sound area.
Experience with biologic, laboratory and/or biohazardous material.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employees working in Laboratory Medicine should be informed that it may be necessary to work in other departmental locations in order to meet patient service requirements, i.e. UWMC, HMC, CHRMC, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Roosevelt, etc.
