Essential Functions: JOB PURPOSECoordinate Office of Student Financial Aid (OFSA) compliance with federal Return of Title IV Funds (R2T4) regulations utilizing a variety of systems for monitoring student enrollment status; processing Return to Title IV Refund calculations; adjusting awards, account payments and loan records; student communications; and reporting. Collaborates with the technical team to maintain accuracy in the multiple processes required to calculate returns. Ensures that requirements are documented. Serves as the subject matter expert for the process. Evaluates and determines best practices, and identifies areas of improvement. This position is also responsible for developing test plans to ensure business continuity during system upgrades.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMaintain compliance with federal financial aid regulations in the federal Return of Title IV (R2T4) funds process. This includes maintaining a working knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations governing financial aid programs needs analysis methodology, federal and state tax laws, and office policies and procedures. Provide program quality assurance by monitoring, tracking and processing to ensure compliance and timeliness to meet all deadlines. Perform quality control checks, resolving discrepancies and ensuring data integrity.Identify and maintain written documentation of critical processes.Collect and provide review materials for annual audit documentation.Process R2T4 calculations and adjust accounts and records in Banner.Able to read, adapt and implement changes to comply with new laws and program guidelines.Identify opportunities for developments and improvements in the return process.Perform related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications: EDUCATIONBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.EXPERIENCEEntry level (no prior job-related experience). Preferred: 2 years of work experience in a financial aid office.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMust be well organized; comfortable with math and technology; and familiar with federal financial aid regulations.COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS - Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and professionally both verbally and in writing. Strong electronic communication skills. ANALYTICAL SKILLS - Ability to compare, contrast and quality check work with a keen attention to detail. Strong analytical skills including: critical thinking and problem solving skills. COMPUTER SKILLS - Proficient in the use of Banner and Microsoft Office tools including Excel. Project Management/SMARTSHEETS, Salesforce, or other CRM systems. ORGANIZATIONAL IMPROVEMENT SKILLS - Must possess skill in identifying methods to anticipate student needs, developing ways to address and implement changing regulations, and working with other staff to improve services. TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS - Ability to balance several priorities at a time, assess workflow and make adjustments.
