Reporting to the Founder and Director, the Executive Director shapes and executes the strategic vision as well as day to day management, development, budgeting, outreach, media, and strategic planning for the Chicago Project on Security and Threats (CPOST). The ED will oversee outreach, staff management, policy impact, development, programming, board management, and help set strategic research priorities of a non-partisan data-driven center that aims to close the knowledge gap on terrorism and international security.A good fit for a motivated individual looking to make their mark at the intersection of the security, policy, and academic worlds.The Executive Director ensures the center achieves existing research, policy impact, and development goals while driving future growth- Develop and execute the vision and strategy of the Center- Ensure day to day operations run smoothly with help of administrative coordinator- Build CPOST's national presence through media products and professional written material- Drive growth in private and corporate philanthropy- Identify funding opportunities and produce grant applications for government and foundation support- Develop new strategic partnerships in Chicago, DC, and beyond- Design event programming for small and large scale events- Support the CPOST board of advisors- Coordinate across research projects and ensure timeline adherence for deliverables- Prepare and maintain moderately complex budgets for project and institutional funding- Manage the full time, part time, and student workers at the center- Interface with other CPOST faculty directors as well as other University centers- Oversee the administrative coordinator as they perform their duties including - Coordinate and manage complex arrangements for both local and international travel, providing faculty support, managing payroll- Oversee hiring searches
