The University of Washington Medical Center's Digestive Health Center has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Medical Assistant - Lead. The individual in this position will perform direct patient care, along with the following duties:
Provide leadership to medical assistants.
Schedule and assign medical assistants to ensure appropriate staffing.
Train Medical Assistants and others and serve as a resource to other clinical providers.
Participate in the interview process for medical assistants and other clinical hires. Train and orient new employees.
Manage procedure flow using organizational ability to effectively prioritize work tasks to ensure that patients are seen in a timely manner and that clinic needs are met.
Participate in endoscopy procedures.
Provide accurate, appropriate, and culturally sensitive education to patients.
Maintain infection control standards.
Maintain, complete and submit required clinic reports and audits in a timely manner.
Perform administrative duties as required by the Digestive Disease Center's needs.

Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board AND one year experience as a Medical Assistant; OR High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience as a Medical Assistant providing direct patient care in a health care setting AND eligible for State of Washington certification designation as Medical Assistant Certified; OR equivalent education/experience.
