Harborview Medical Center invites you to join our team of dedicated professionals as an ARNP or PA-C for the STD clinic. The STD Clinic operates as a collaboration between Public Health Seattle & King County and HMC. The Clinic provides STD and HIV diagnosis, treatment and referral and serves as a research and training site for HIV/STD care. PHSKC STD Clinic clinicians pride themselves on their excellent health education and counseling skills, expertise as sexual health providers for sexual minorities (including men who have sex with men, transgender individuals and sex workers)
Licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse (C.R.N.) in the State of Washington or eligible for registration as a Physician's Assistant (PA) in the State of Washington; must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the organized medical staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for Hospital-based positions.
ARNP with prescriptive authority or PA-C
At least two years previous experience providing outpatient services in the reproductive health field.
Proficiency in medical Spanish.
Experience with providing pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) to persons at high-risk for HIV
Skilled with point-of-care laboratories including microscopy (Grams stain and wet mount), urine pregnancy tests, rapid RPRs, and darkfield microscopy
Experience using liquid nitrogen to treat dermatologic conditions
Ability to perform anoscopy
Training, certification and experience in IUD and nexplanon insertions
Passion for providing health care to vulnerable populations, especially sexual and gender minorities including men who have sex with men (MSM), transgender persons and sex workers.
Experience working with patients with significant psycho-social barriers to care including severe mental health diagnoses, homelessness and substance abuse.
Experience with and excellence in clinical educaiton
