The College of Liberal Arts seeks candidates for the new position of McAnulty College Communication and Events Coordinator. Work will be performed under the supervision of the Dean and in coordination with the Associate Dean and the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK:
Designs, maintains, and manages the College's External Communications, including the College Website (including oversight of all departmental websites), College Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and WordPress blog), electronic and print brochures and advertisements for the College, Praxis (the College's annual alumni publication), and the College's Annual Report;
With the Dean, Associate Dean, and/or other College Office members, plans College Events, including speakers and conferences, faculty and student orientation events, fine arts exhibits, and College alumni events (including College Alumni Advisory Board meetings, College Homecoming events, and Liberal Arts in Action).
SPECIFIC TASKS INCLUDE:
Serves as liaison between the Office of Marketing and Communication (OMC) and all content managers in the College;
Manages the College Event Calendar;
Serves as the Campus Communication representative from the College;
Serves as the College liaison to Alumni Affairs;
Serves as Webmaster for the College, which includes work with OMC and departments to design and create video footage for the webpages.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS OF WORK:
This position requires an Bachelor's Degree, Master's preferred, from an accredited institution, in liberal arts or social science discipline is desirable. The ideal candidate will have experience in and knowledge of the cutting edge technology needed to be effective in complex organizational communication. The candidate will need experience in marketing and public relations; proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); Social Media, and Web design and maintenance; experience as a photographer and videographer; excellent writing and proofreading skills; experience with event planning; the ability to work with a diverse team; the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to accomplish objectives in a large organization; familiarity with, or ability to learn, the regulations and policies governing operations of Duquesne; time management and organizational skills; show evidence of trustworthiness in working with confidential materials; and the ability to use independent judgment in making decisions.
