The McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine is seeking a qualified Critical Care Technician.
The primary role of the Critical Care Technician will be to provide assistance to the CPCS supervisor and senior staff members in support of the facility operations and study coordination. This individual will work directly with the CPCS supervisor in coordinating projects; assist in the preparation and perform in both major and minor surgical procedures; assist in the training of all personnel.
This individual must be able organize study documentation and materials, develop proficiency in use and calibration of equipment, collect study specific data such as bio samples for test device analysis, provide treatments to post operative animals and monitor animal overall health and well-being.
A proficient knowledge of institutional and government regulations regarding the care and welfare of animals is desirable.
Incumbent will play an integral part in the development and maintenance of the McGowan Quality Systems with assisting in the development of Standard Operating Procedures, data collection forms, and other quality documentation supporting all studies performed within the CPCS. This individual will work with senior staff members to oversee and adapt procedures reflecting the McGowan Quality Systems to increase efficiency, assure accuracy, and correct any deficiencies in day to day operations.
This role requires this team member to work closely with research staff and sponsoring investigators in the progress and implementation of both discovery and nonclinical study protocols. There will be close contact with sponsors, visiting surgeons and trainees, PIs and the McGowan research staff; excellent communication skills are required. The individual must be willing to work extended hour shifts, off hour support including evenings, nights and weekend may be required.

The following PA Act 153 clearances and background checks may be required prior to commencement of employment and as a condition of continued employment: PA State Police Criminal Record Check, FBI Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
