The Brookings Executive Education (BEE) Manager, Policy Programs is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with mid and senior level government and corporate executives and individuals to increase awareness and interest in Brookings Policy Open Enrollment Seminars and Certificate Programs. This person will work closely with the BEE Director and have accountability for achieving revenue targets.
This position is primarily responsible for selling group purchases to government agencies and recruiting participants for the Certificate and Fellowship programs. It comprises a broad range of recruitment responsibilities including: identifying program participants and 1-on-1 follow-up with potential individual candidates; relationship building with government agencies, corporations; presentations to prospective participants; and the development and implementation of strategic outreach and recruitment plans. This position also works closely with BEE’s Director to assess the quality of and interest in current open enrollment offerings and identify new programs.
Open and maintain lines of contact with government and corporate clients and prospects for Brookings Executive Education services, in particular for the LEGIS Fellowship, Certificate of Policy Strategy and other open enrollment Programs. This includes selling seminar subscriptions to organizations, recruiting participants for certificate and seminar programs, and assessing appropriateness of individuals for specific programs.
Develop and implement a strategic outreach and recruitment plan. Working closely with BEE’s Director, this position will identify prospective organizations to target, develop a sales and marketing plan for outreach and work with internal staff and other Olin departments (i.e. Marketing, IT) to implement the plan. Revenue and enrollment targets will be part of the plan and this individual will have responsibility for achieving these targets.
Working closely with BEE’s Director, this individual will create an annual schedule of programs and associated program budgets, recruit faculty and presenters to deliver the programs, obtain required information from faculty and presenters to market the programs and communicate compensation terms to them. In addition, responsible for the Policy Programs Manager will serve as the deputy director of the Brookings LEGIS Congressional Fellows program, handling the full range of administrative, logistical, marketing activities as well as advising and counseling Fellows serving in the US Congress.
This position has responsibility for monitoring the overall effectiveness of all open enrollment programs. This includes reviewing program evaluations and participant satisfaction, reaching out to organizations and participants for anecdotal comments and providing feedback for continuous improvement to staff and faculty. Additionally, this position is responsible for identifying and proposing new programs to add to the Brookings portfolio based on market research and organizational needs. The Manager will director and coach support staff in program preparation and delivery.
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years’ experience in consultative selling environments. Background in political science, government or related field required.
MS/MA preferred, several years of congressional and/or federal work experience. Broad network of professional colleagues and policy experts who can serve as program faculty.
The hiring range for this position is $71,712 - $93,240 annually.
