Full Time 36 hours Grade 094 Imaging Sciences-CT Responsibilities General Purpose: Performs CT exams by following and verifying the referring providersâ™ orders and remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences department and all governing bodies. Responsibilities: Identify patient service requirements. Educate patients and families regarding the procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Prepare patient for radiological/CT procedures by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified positions, adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. Perform procedures by following and verifying the referring providersâ™ orders. Apply methodologies learned according to established policy and procedures. Produce high quality images, and prepare and present them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Prepare and maintain accurate documentation. Maintain production and quality of CT images by following establish standards, orders, protocols, and procedures. Practice radiation protection techniques (ALARA), using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors and automatic exposure controls. Perform and evaluate equipment quality control measurements. Troubleshoot and notify appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Maintain a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors. Adhere to safety policies. Qualifications: Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology. Maintain current NYS licensure and ARRT certification with CE credits, as required. One year experience.
