Join Harborview Medical Center's outstanding Clinical Education Dept., and Emergency Services Dept., as Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE).The Emergency Services Clinical Nurse Educator provides support for the management team as well as leadership for the delivery of exemplary patient care throughout Emergency Services. This position works in partnership to provide clinical consultation and support to staff across the medical center regarding patients in need of Emergency Services. In collaboration with Emergency Services Nursing leadership, the Clinical Nurse Educator contributes to the advancement of nursing practice and continuous performance improvement through involvement in clinical practice, research, organizational support and professional collaboration. This position cultivates staff skills and critical thinking, and ensures that evidence based practice is delivered to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes across the patient care continuum This position is responsive to the dynamic needs of the organization, staff and patients within the changing healthcare and perioperative services environment.Under general supervision, the Clinical Nurse Educator in the Emergency Services dept. provides support to the management team for the assurance of clinical workforce competence. Emphasizing service excellence, patient safety, staff safety and organizational integration, the Clinical Nurse Educator provides leadership and resources that promote the following: Effective orientation and evaluation of baseline skill level and competencies for assigned workforce. Efficient and effective educational services and resources, which enable staff to meet patient care needs in addition to other core departmental needs (i.e. disaster/emergency response). Timely clinical problem solving and communication of clinical issues at all levels (peer, staff, management, physician) Effective interdisciplinary and interdepartmental collaboration and service coordination.
