The Day Camp Program Director is responsible for developing and coordinating programs and activities for up to 24 Day campers aged 4-8 years.
II. Duration June 18, 2018 – August 10, 2017 with mandatory camp staff training week beginning on June 24th.
III. Specific Responsibilities 100% Responsibilities include developing a schedule of activities for each day, facilitating programs, supervising campers, communicating with parents daily, and acquiring the necessary program supplies. Day Camp Director will also work with the Camp Director to assign staff, and will be responsible for supervising those staff while they are working with Day Campers.
IV. Qualifications Successful candidates will be at least 18 years of age by July 1 and have at least of two seasons of experience working with children in kindergarten through second grade. Day Camp Director must be exciting and enthusiastic in engaging with very young campers. Must possess strong planning skills and be confident with public speaking. Experience in outdoor programming, education and/or recreation preferred. Candidates must be up to date in the First Aid and CPR certifications. Able to work with diverse populations, supervise youth and work with the Camp Director and the team at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County.
POSITION DETAILS: This is an exempt, full-time position, 40 hours per week.
