Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County is seeking applicants for our Kitchen positions to join our 4-H Camp Bristol Hills team. Various positions are available from Kitchen Director, Assistant Kitchen Director and Kitchen Food Service Assistants. We are looking for experienced Kitchen/Food Service workers ideally with camp experience are encouraged to apply. 4-H Camp Bristol Hills welcomes more than 200 campers on a weekly basis during the summer season and is a great place to play and get paid to work! We are looking for a Kitchen Director to oversee all kitchen operations for the summer season at 4-H Camp Bristol Hills.In this role, the Food Service Manager is responsible for supervising all food preparation and service operations.
II. Duration June 2018 – mid August 2018.
III. Specific Responsibilities 100% Assist with the selection of cooks and kitchen assistants. Develop weekly menus and meals that are nutritionally complete and reasonably accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions. Procures food and supplies and monitors expenses. Maintain inventory of all kitchen materials and equipment and submit orders for replacement when needed. Schedule and supervise kitchen assistants and cooks. Ensure that food preparation, service and storage comply with NYSDOH regulations.
IV. Qualifications Must meet age requirements for the position set by the NYS Department of Health. Minimum 21 years of age. Current Food Handlers' Certificate as required by local and state law 1-2 years previous experience with increasing responsibility in a kitchen. Ability to cook for large groups up to 250 persons. Ability to communicate effectively with Camp Educator, Camp Director, entire camp staff, campers and camp families. Able to lift 10-20 lbs.
