Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County is seeking applicants for our Kitchen positions to join our 4-H Camp Bristol Hills team. Various positions are available from Kitchen Director, Assistant Kitchen Director and Kitchen Food Service Assistants. We are looking for experienced Kitchen/Food Service workers ideally with camp experience are encouraged to apply. 4-H Camp Bristol Hills welcomes more than 200 campers on a weekly basis during the summer season and is a great place to play and get paid to work! We are seeking candidates to work as Food Service Assistants at 4-H Camp Bristol Hills located in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York State. Under the direction of the Food Service Manager or Assistant Food Service Manager, the kitchen assistant helps with food preparation, service and storage.
II. Duration June 2018 – mid August 2018.
III. Specific Responsibilities 100% In addition to assisting with food preparation, service and storage, responsibilities for kitchen sanitation includie but are not limited to: cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, utensils and equipment; disposing of food and other waste products; storing food properly.
IV. Qualifications Must be 17 years or older to meet age requirements for the position set by the NYS Department of Health Able to work flexible hours including early mornings and weekends as needed. Able to lift 20-50 lbs. Possess a valid Food Handlers' Certificate. 1-2 years previous experience with increasing responsibilities in a kitchen. Knowledge of generally accepted nutrition guidelines. Able to operate commercial kitchen equipment.
POSITION DETAILS: This is an exempt, full-time position, 40 hours per week.
