FULL-TIME STUDENT ACCOUNTS MANAGER: Student Financial Services/Enrollment Services; Non Unit Professional Position; 37.5 hours per week, Student Financial Services schedule, Monday/Thursday/Friday from 9 am - 5 pm and Tuesday/Wednesday from 9 am - 7 pm; The staff member is required to work one late night a week which is subject to change based on the needs of the office. This position also requires Saturdays and late evenings during peak enrollment periods for the fall and spring semesters.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Student Accounts Manager provides direct management to AFSCME full time and part time personnel. In collaboration with the Associate Dean of Enrollment Services, the Student Accounts manager leads the management and execution of all student accounts business processes, which include billing and collection of student accounts; payment plan options and enrollments; student account refunds; student health insurance program; 1098T Tuition Statement; third-party billing; and receivables analyses. Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal, State and College regulations and policies:
Ensures the accurate and timely billing of student accounts in accordance with established business process. Manages and reviews the collection process of delinquent student accounts receivables; timely submission to collection agencies and MA intercept program.
Maintains adequate internal controls and proper security systems within the department to minimize risk of loss.
Establishes and ensures strong inter-departmental relationships for student account business processes, with other College departments including Admissions, Registrar, Accounting and Finance, and IT.
Works with external bookstore vendor on posting of student charges and credits to student accounts.
Administers student health insurance enrollments and waivers and provides accurate and timely enrollment reporting and premium payments and semester and year-end reconciliations. Submits related required reporting.
Coordinates with outside vendor and IT department to ensure that 1098T forms are furnished either electronically or by paper to students in a timely manner.
Serves as college representative to the Community College Bursar Council.
Maintains the Banner Student Accounts Receivable Module, setting up new semester terms, ensuring accuracy of student accounts, testing upgrades, and implementing new functionalities.
Oversees the maintenance of the TouchNet online payment system.
Submits required reports to various agencies including the MA Department of Higher Education.
Bachelor's degree required and five (5) years related financial experience within Higher Education of which three (3) must have been in progressive supervisory positions.
Knowledge of generally accepted banking, billing, collections procedures and accounting principles.
Must be able to: research, analyze, and interpret complex financial data;
Must be able to respond effectively to questions and prepare materials in response to inquiries;
Must be able to exercise judgment and discretion as well as handle confidential information.
Must be self-motivated; well organized; have the ability to problem solve; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously; be able to communicate effectively with students, staff and the community and have a commitment to customer service
Strong time management skills are required.
Must be able to step in and provide backup support in critical functions to meet and cover staff absences
Knowledge of Microsoft Office required
Ellucian Banner Student Information Systems experience preferred.
SALARY: $70,000-$85,000 annually with complete fringe benefit package.
