The Analyst, Global Strategies supports GMA’s strategic goals and promotes economic growth in the CPG industry by addressing emerging opportunities and challenges in global commerce as well as the inter-relations between international and U.S. policy. The analyst will aid in the development of policy positions and advocacy strategies to liberalize trade, promote regulatory coherence, and support science-based global standards.
The analyst's core responsibilities will include:
Contributing to identifying and executing GS priorities and advocacy strategy that are fully aligned with GMA strategic goals and executed in cross-functional teams, as appropriate.
Supporting the Director by contributing to management of the Trade Policy & International Affairs Committee (TPIAC).
Engaging external stakeholders (principally, U.S. government officials and other trade association counterparts) to support trade liberalization, regulatory coherence, science-based policies, and encouraging multi-sectoral partnerships.
Supporting the Director with division work-flow and management, including (but not limited to)
•Drafting concise and informative weekly report contributions and other internal GMA communications, as assigned.
•Planning, coordinating, and conducting meetings and prepare presentations for internal and external audiences, as assigned.
•Assisting with TPIAC and GSC meeting arrangements, as assigned, including logistics and scheduling; confirming conference calls; managing meeting communications; recording and distributing meeting minutes and follow up, as appropriate.
Bachelors degree or equivalent training and experience, preferably in International Affairs and/or Business, required. Advanced degree desirable.
Minimum of 3 years prior related work experience is required.
Previous nutrition and health experience desirable.
Previous international trade experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential.
MS Office and presentation tools.
Multi-language skills desirable.
