We are seeking Registered Nurses for a NEW state of the art Critical Care unit at Lowell General Hospital, Main Campus. This unit will provide care for patients that are stable yet critically ill including those with cardiac, renal, pulmonary, neuro, medical and surgical diagnoses. Populations served will be young adult through geriatric patients from Lowell and surrounding communities.
This is a 12 bed hybrid unit currently with 6 beds designated for ICU level of care and 6 beds designated for Step Down level of care. ICU-1 will progress to 12 ICU level of care beds over the next six to twelve months. This is a unique clinical advancement opportunity for nurses desiring to develop their knowledge and clinical skills; bridging intermediate/step down level of care to ICU level of care. ICU-1 offers ongoing training, teaching, and educational opportunities that is unique and tailored to the patient population we care for.
Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse performs/supervises in a designated area according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the department and hospital. The professional clinical nurse practices in accordance with the Massachusetts Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association scope and Standards of Practice, Quality Caring framework and professional practice model at Lowell General Hospital. Works cooperatively within department and other services to create a system of quality health care.
Qualifications: RN Massachusetts license required BSN strongly preferred, BLS required A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a RN strongly preferred
