We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Anesthesia Tech Supervisor in the Anesthesia Department. To qualify a Bachelor's Degree in a health care related field is preferred or a suitable combination of education and experience required. Graduate of an approved Anesthesia Technician program. ASATT certification required. Ability to lift and push all anesthesia equipment and supplies over 50 lbs. Supervisory experience required.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of the LOH Anesthesia Techs and Technical activity. Provides ongoing supervision of each employee in an effective manner, is responsible for training, handling daily scheduling/personnel issues. Establish and ensure maintenance of appropriate par levels for anesthesia supplies. Make recommendations for improvement of inventory control and quality. Arranges work to reduce or avoid overtime when feasible. Researches and identifies lowest price for products purchased by the department without sacrificing quality. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Responsible for supervising the daily operation of the departments technical activities
Assists with the supervision of Anesthesia Technicians and Lead Anesthesia Technicians
Trains and provides ongoing supervision of each employee in an effective manner
Institutes appropriate follow-up with each employee to ensure that departmental and institutional goals are reached
Assigns work on an equitable basis, assigns overtime according to guidelines of the collective bargaining agreement
Participates in the interview process and selection of new staff members
Tracks attendance and performance issues of assigned staff. Counsels and conducts corrective action per policy and procedure
Resolves operational/personnel/scheduling issues that arise on a daily basis
Serves as a liaison between departmental leadership, and the operating rooms, clinics, materials management and other departments within the hospital
Shares in the budgetary responsibility with the Manager and Director. Stays within budget for resources, materials, and FTE's
Maintains operation statistics and logs, prepares reports as needed
Makes rounds and collects data on the operational effectiveness of equipment and supplies on an ongoing basis
Conducts OR quality checks, assists in root-cause analysis, problem solving and reports issues to Manager
Maintains inventory control and ensures adequate supplies for all areas served by Anesthesiology
Makes recommendations for improvement of inventory control and organization
Effectively coordinates support staff and independent contractors to ensure necessary equipment maintenance is performed on a timely basis
Cost containment- evaluates practices and identifies areas of excessive materials and/or costs
Arranges work to reduce or avoid overtime when feasible
Researches and identifies lowest price for products purchased by department, without sacrificing quality
Performs other duties as needed
