Sets institutional direction and oversees execution of college’s advancement program, driving non-traditional financial resources for short-term use and long-term sustainability that support student scholarships, academic programs, student services and other needs as identified by ECC. Leadership required in all aspects of the separately incorporated, not-for-profit institutionally related foundation and college’s emerging alumni relations program. Responsibilities include direction of comprehensive fundraising program (including annual giving, major giving, planned giving, and campaigns), board development, governance and policies in alignment with national best practices, volunteer engagement, investment and financial management, fund distribution, donor and volunteer stewardship, marketing and communications direction for foundation, and alumni relations program for more than 35,000 college graduates, 100,000+ attendees, and current students. Working with the ECC Foundation Board of Directors, create a strategic plan in alignment with the college’s stated direction and annual operational plans and goals for growth.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 1. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university. 2. Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible administrative and professional experience working in conjunction with executive level constituents. 3. Minimum of 3 years in the role of foundation executive director or comparable position. 4. Minimum of 3 years of supervisory and team building experience. 5. Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. 6. Exemplary presentation skills, including the development of speeches and presentations to be given to top management, public groups and/or board of trustees. 7. Proficiency in statistical analysis, test reliability/validity, variance analysis and/or sampling theory. 8. Ability to develop and understand personal relationships between the College and the district donors. 9. Ability to establish long-term partnerships to support the importance and value of education in the community. 10. Experience with post-secondary education administration. 11. Experience with Blackbaud’s The Raiser’s Edge constituent relationship management software or similar software. 12. Exceptional organizational skills.
