Job Description Summary The Student Financial Services Department in the Division of Student Enrollment Management at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science welcome applications for a full-time Student Financial Aid Counselor. The Student Financial Aid Counselor is responsible for managing all aspects of financial aid for students including processing financial aid, file management, and counseling students on loan options, scholarship opportunities, and debt management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Analyze and evaluate student financial aid data. Counsel students regarding their financial aid packages, eligibility and program requirements/procedures Interpret, apply and comply with federal state and institutional regulations governing student federal aid. Receive and process financial aid applications and forms, screen applications for completeness and accuracy, verify reported information, determine eligibility for awards. Demonstrate a high level of integrity, ethical behavior in working with confidential information. Maintain effective communication with university partners. Oversee the processing of student loan cancellations and refunds. Create and develop financial aid publications, applications and calendars. Responsible for managing university scholarships and coordinating with various departments and programs. Responsible for all aspects of the Federal Work Study Program. Responsible for assisting in development of SFA policy and procedures. Participates in new student orientations and other campus wide events program, provides guidance on eligibility and requirements and answers specific detailed question.
Required Education & Experience Bachelor Degree. Three year experience in financial environment may be substituted for Bachelor degree. Must achieve a background check clearance.

Ability to handle detail job tasks with accuracy and coordinate/manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., spreadsheets, word processing, database management software, etc.). Strong customer service orientation.
