The Business We're hiring a Head of Operating Model to join NatWest Markets Client Operations & Delivery in London
This is a chance to establish and oversee robust governance and monitoring frameworks for a number of critical workstreams in Client Operations & Delivery (CO&D), a core new function in the NatWest Markets Chief Operating Office
Client Operations & Delivery is a single team providing seamless client service across our global business lines, and joining in this influential role will give you exposure to senior stakeholders
The role is available at director level
What you'll do
You'll be tasked with managing effective governance and monitoring perspective for a number of discrete but inter-related function in CO&D, covering Financial Crime - including anti money laundering, sanctions, anti bribery and corruption, and financial crime governance - Client Lifecycle - made up of on-boarding, exits, CDM and SSI - and Data Framework. You'll also develop a more long term, strategic plan to enhance Financial Crime and Client Lifecycle management, and will define parameters to determine the on going book of work those programmes.
Other key elements of your role will include:
Making sure there is a strong and successful link between the policy framework and the offshore execution
Reviewing global policies which apply to NatWest Markets, determining whether they meet all regulations and are suitable for the non-ringfenced bank
Building strong engagement with colleagues in the UK, Asia, India and the US to ensure the team's operations are truly successful and well coordinated across the globe
Building rapport and engagement with front office and second line of defence colleagues, allowing you to guide on policy compliance
Managing risk issues to successful closure, and ensuring appropriate engagement with the ringfenced bank to successfully mitigate relevant risks
The skills you'll need
We're looking for someone who has experience of the investment banking industry, particularly relating to financial crime - giving you strong technical financial crime skills - and client lifecycle oversight, governance and execution. You'll also be able to demonstrate strong customer focus and awareness.
We'll also expect:
Proven understanding of risk management, governance and control
Strong people management skills and the ability to build high performing teams
Proven, strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and leaders from the front office, and from other areas of the bank
Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing, with the ability to prepare and deliver reports at board level
