Advertised Job Summary:
The coordinator for student government will direct the daily operations of the Office of Student Government at the University of South Carolina. This includes advisement of Student Government Executive Officers, Cabinet, and Committee Members. Ensures compliance is maintained with all University policies and procedures for programming and procurement. This position will also support the University's mission and goals through participating in recruitment and retention activities, as appropriate, for prospective and current students.
Primary responsibilities include:
Advise all student participants in Student Government
Provide training to all elected and appointed students in the executive, legislative and judicial branches
Coordinate all programs and services including the freshmen council, annual elections, training retreats, and other designated events
Assist with developing and implementing the student government budgets
Maintain all official student government records
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Masters degree in Student Services or related field and 1 year related experience, or bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience.
This position has been designated as essential personnel during inclement / hazardous weather and other emergencies. In addition, this position requires a variable work schedule. Evening and weekend hours will be required.
