Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Psychology Intern.
In this role, the successful candidate Primary responsibilities are the provision of psychological/neuropsychological assessment and interventions for patients and their families on the inpatient services under supervision of a licensed psychologist.
Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations service standard and incorporates them into his/her duties.
Provides neuropsychological/psychological assessment and cognitive and/or psychological interventions under supervision of a licensed psychologist (supervisor) on the inpatient service. Ensures that all inpatient clinical services delivered adhere to regulations and standards set by federal, state and city agencies. Participates in supervision for testing and treatment interventions as directed by the clinical supervisor.
Assists with orientation of new trainees. Assists the Director of Internship Training and clinical supervisor to provide on the job training in areas of direct patient care, rehabilitation psychology methods and techniques and departmental policies and procedures for other trainees.
Involvement in training program didactics as directed by the Director of Intern Training.
Assists the clinical supervisor in interventions to reduce errors or delay in patient service delivery. Ensures well being of patients.
Attends Departmental educational in-services, workshops and professional conferences to expand current knowledge in field. Shares new knowledge with the trainees and staff as requested by Director of Internship Training.
Ensures accuracy in documentation for psychological services rendered under clinical supervision. Monitors consistency between psychological/neuropsychological services rendered and treatment prescribed. Ensures that documentation is completed in a timely fashion. Ensures compliance with quality control is maintained.
Under clinical supervision, functions as resource for other trainees and staff on the inpatient service. Confers with physicians and other inter-disciplinary staff regarding direct patient care.
Completes statistical data required of clinical services delivery as requested by clinical supervisor.
Maintains a high level of professional behavior and adheres to departmental policies re: attendance and punctuality.
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Completion of all course work leading to a doctoral degree in Psychology Prior externships in related fields of rehabilitation
Preferred Qualifications: Prior clinically experience in inpatient and/or rehabilitation setting
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
