Job Posting: The Craft Specialist - Plumbing, accomplishes plumbing and preventative maintenance, installs, inspects, operates and repairs major/minor plumbing utilities, medical gases and drinking water systems. Set priorities and handles multiple projects or assignments and meets completion schedules within established time frames. Performs preventative maintenance, on plumbing utilities and equipment. As appropriate, reports corrections/repairs to Operations Supervisors and/or Lead Craft Specialists and Senior Craftworkers. Maintain Proper paperwork, including but not limited to infection Control Permits, Ceiling Tile Permits, Hot Work Permits, Maintenance Activity Reports, Shutdown forms. Maintains neat work area and cleans up job site every day and/or when project is finished. Performs other related duties as required.
Qualification Requirements/Preferences: Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities Educational Requirements: High school diploma, GED or equivalent trade school with related specialty. License/Certification/Registration Requirements: LA City Plumbing License is required. Journeymen Plumber's license preferred or equivalent military/industrial/commercial experience required. Medical gas brazing certificate preferred. Journeymen Plumber's license, second related journeyman License, or equivalent military/industrial/commercial experience required. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years at a Journeyman level experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Hospital experience preferred. The installation, repair, and troubleshooting of plumbing systems. Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, fixtures, tools, and equipment of the plumbing trade, as well as those items listed under "Essential Job Duties." Experience in maintaining a working supply inventory. Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade. Progressively responsible experience demonstrating ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects or assignments and meet completion schedules within established time frames. Understanding the State of California Uniform Plumbing Code. Must read, write, speak English and be able to read training documents. Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking): This position requires a great deal of walking and standing. Must be able to push equipment carts and move job-related equipment. Must be able to lift fifty to eighty (50-80) pounds, stoop, bend and work in different positions for extended periods of time. Work Environment: Able to tolerate heat, noise, dust, smoke, unpleasant odors, and chemicals. Must be adept at handling themselves in potentially dangerous situations and areas. Must be able to stay alert at all times. Must be available to provide uninterrupted watches and unscheduled overtime.
