The EMEA Risk Management Division is responsible for the independent identification, analysis, reporting and escalation of all market, credit and operational risk exposures arising from UK Group business activities, acting independently of business management and providing an effective challenge process.
As part of the EMEA Risk Management Division, the Market Risk Department (MRD) identifies, measures, monitors, advises, challenges and controls market risks generated by the UK Group market-making and banking activities, acting independently of business management and providing an effective challenge process. The Market Risk Department comprises of various functions including Risk Managers, Stress Testing, Legal Entity Portfolio, Projects and Middle Office (data management).
Morgan Stanley is seeking a Vice President to serve as COO, reporting directly to the EMEA and UK Group Head of Market Risk. The candidate should have strong communication and organisational skills.
Core responsibilities will include:
Support the EMEA and UK Group Head of Market Risk to ensure the Department is run in an efficient and effective manner.
Development of materials for business plans, offsites, townhalls, Board and Senior Management updates as required.
Engagement in key risk deliverables/projects when required, including regulatory deliverables.
Delivery of the regional MRD Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) including co-ordination with Global and Regional equivalents.
HR planning and development (including onboarding/offboarding, headcount tracking, training, talent development).
Engagement in Audits and other process validation testing.
Review and input into the MRD Policy and Procedure framework to ensure ongoing appropriateness.
Maintain oversight of the Outsourcing framework.
Maintain oversight of budget.
Skills required (essential)
Good academic background, including a degree or equivalent.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple deliverables whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail.
Proactive with the ability to work effectively on both an individual basis and as part of the wider team.
Ability to co-ordinate across multiple teams.
Strong communication skills and ability to engage with a variety of different stakeholders.
