Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Director-Security.
This position requires demonstrated knowledge of hospital security issues, safety procedures and Joint Commission standards. The successful candidate will plan, organize, develop, implement, evaluate and supervise the administrative and operational activities of the Security Management Plan.
Possessess exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrates computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs.
Knowledge of integrated security systems such as video surveillance systems, communication and notification, access control and various incident and visitor management.
Actively participates when time permits in an established chapter of the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS).
Ensures that all new hires have a security program orientation and the orientation is documented as required by TJC
Performs contract management with a designated security services provider for the networks family health centers and off-site administrative offices. Provides operational and financial oversight of the security services provider to ensure that invoices are accurate before payment is made.
Conducts final reviews of completed security incident reports submitted by security staff to ensure that incidents are properly classified, reports are detailed, concise and accurate.
Collaborates and works closely with Risk Management, Clinical and Non-Clinical Director leadership in dealing with issues involving identified security, patient and safety risks.
Provides direct supervisory oversight of the FHC Security Manager and designated security supervisors to ensure smooth day-to-day administrative and department operations.
Conducts periodic security risk assessments for the hospital. Ensures that an evaluation and continued assessment is conducted on any security risks and vulnerabilities and provides guidance and recommendations to reduce those identified security risks.
Has overall responsibility for the development, control and oversight of the hospitals parking management system.
Prepares and updates the networks Security Management Plans on an annual basis or as needed and required by The Joint Commission. Appropriately evaluates those Security Management Plans by preparing an annual evaluation report.
Provides training and expert advice to hospital associates and leadership on a variety of healthcare security, law enforcement and personal safety issues
Actively participates as a member of the hospitals Environment of Care (EC) committee. Provides information, updates and deals with issues relating to the Security Management Plan.
Conducts ongoing analysis of security incident data for the entire network. Prepares security data statistical reports and presents results to the Environment of Care Committee.
Creates and develops healthcare security related training and instruction for all security personnel. Demonstrates an ability to provide such training and instruction to security manager, supervisors and officers on report writing, conducting initial incident investigations, (CPI) Non Violent Crisis Intervention, etc.
Creates and or updates security program policies and procedures, ensures that established systems and processes are in place to address administrative and operational issues.
Conducts complex internal hospital investigations. Investigations may relate to internal thefts, personnel matters, assaults, missing property, associate injuries, workers compensation, workplace violence, sexual harassment and excessive uses of force on patients.
Acts as the primary law enforcement and correctional liaison for the network.
Manages the hospital and family health centers security program and is responsible for the creation, implementation and standardization of that programs processes, systems and procedures.
Bachelors Degree in a related discipline required.
CPR/Heart Saver Certification required.
