The Fixed Income Division is comprised of Interest Rate and Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in the Division assess and actively manages risk, trade securities, and structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced and constantly changing global markets. The Commodities Division is a market leader across a broad range of commodities markets, with expertise in areas including client risk management, financing solutions and investor products Sales & Trading.
Foreign exchange (FX) is the largest and most liquid of the global financial markets. This business demands sales professionals who are self-starting and adaptable and who are completely committed to building the best relationships with our clients. Morgan Stanley is looking to recruit an FX Sales person to join the team in London.
You will be responsible for selling FX products and related services to clients in various jurisdictions across Europe and the Middle East and Africa, as well as providing back-up client coverage to clients in other countries globally. You will initially provide assistance on sales-pitches and work to build up relationships with existing clients by aiding in their day to day trading activities. As you develop your client facing skills, you can focus more of your time on business, and ultimately client acquisition.
Part of the role will be to provide market commentary and trade ideas to clients, and at the same time you will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the FX marketplace. You will also be expected to become involved in business and product development and obtain a good knowledge of the competitor landscape. The scope for progression is high and you would be encouraged to take on responsibility from an early stage.
Skills required (essential)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant subject i.e. mathematics, economics or science based disciplines.
Demonstrated success in a sales capacity with previous experience selling to Banks, Hedge Funds and / or other institutions.
Target-driven with a proven sales / prospecting process.
Solid understanding and comprehension of the FX market.
Strong client focused sales and account management style, with confidence in calling and pitching to clients.
Excellent communication and organizational skills. A natural, outgoing nature and strong interpersonal skills are key to being successful in this role.
Possess an analytical mindset and be able to prioritise a varied workload.
Self-starter, entrepreneurial spirit.
Foreign languages highly advantageous
