My client, a top tier investment bank is looking for a Data Scientist to join their Financial Crime Risk Analytics team based in Sheffield, UK. There will be high flexibility to work 1-2 days from home per week.
Responsibilities: * This role is responsile for developing and maintaining Transaction Monitoring models and methodologies for GRA FCC. * to review and improve the existing suite of models and methodologies, * to drive improvements to the systems and data infrastructure supporting deployment of the risk models, to coordinate projects aimed at aligning methodologies, governance and policies around the Group, * develop actionable hypotheses about customer behaviour and AML scenarios and apply the right mix of qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to identify causes and solutions * managing stakeholder expectations related to timelines and deliverables - includes setting the right expectations consistently and meeting/ exceeding them regularly for the team * ownership and management of the analytics infrastructure, current and new, plus tooling * responsible for escalation and decision making at a programme/ country cluster level. * engage in industry discussions aimed at informing policy
Requirements: * Minimum of 3 - 5 years proven and progressive experience in financial services data analysis and/or application development; AML Compliance specific experience preferred * Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a numerate or computer science, MIS, related field or equivalent experience * Data Modelling experience * Machine Learning * Supervised Learning: Regression Analysis, Generalized Linear Model, Decision Trees, SVM, etc. * Strong analytical skills with complex data type and format Clustering: K-means, Hierarchical clustering, etc. * Good understanding of the business activities for a large global banking group with diverse operations from retail banking, wealth management, commercial banking, global banking, investments, transaction services, asset management, private banking and insurance. * Proficient in R or Python programming
