TheVanderbilt Music Cognition Lab (located in the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Centerin Nashville, Tennessee) seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist (clinicalfellowship) with a strong interest in clinical-translational research. Theposition and the supervised training will be focused administration of languageand social communication assessments in several populations (primarily: infantsand young children with autism, and children with language impairments) forNIH-funded studies. Consultation and therapy experiences with young childrenwith ASD may also be available depending on interest and experience. The Lab isa fast-paced and exciting environment that engages students from a wide rangeof Vanderbilt undergraduate and graduate programs and maintains collaborationswith a network of researchers across Vanderbilt departments and in othernational and international sites. In addition to completing the requirementsfor ASHA certification, the candidate will have the opportunity to acquire newresearch skills (including behavioral data analysis, acoustic analysis, eyetracking, musical rhythm assessments, and EEG). This position requires highattention to detail, contact with families and recruitment in the community,willingness to learn new skills, and basic knowledge of the research process.
Priorresearch experience and completion of a Masterâs in Speech-Language Pathology arerequired. Opportunities for long-term involvement in the lab are contingentupon successful completion of fellowship and availability of funding. Positionis open for an immediate start date.
