Under the general supervision of the Cashiering and Student Accounting Services Manager, the incumbent performs a wide variety of financial record-keeping duties requiring considerable judgment, initiative, and independence. The incumbent has primary responsibility for providing technical support for the student accounts receivable function using a comprehensive knowledge of financial record-keeping methods, procedures, and practices and a basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepares reconciliations such as, but not limited to; daily cash flow from the cashier system to the student and finance systems, monthly credit card merchant statement transactions with the cashier system and then compiles, computes, and prepares billing statements of credit card merchant fees charged back to individual campus departments, application fees, and disbursed financial aid.
Maintains campus Satellite Cashier’s Program: creates and modifies users; creates specific reports for each user; provides and reviews procedures with each user. With assistance from Student Accounting Services Manager, conducts annual inspections of satellites to ensure compliance of regulations. Prepares bank deposits for University Corporation and Foundation. Provides back-up support to the cashier’s office, as needed.
Monitors application of student payments; reapplying payments, as needed.
Creates and maintains complex spreadsheets including entering, revising, sorting, calculating and creating tables to include preparing journal entries.
Creates, modifies, runs and exports queries.
Processes and monitors payback and other provisions associated with student loans; such as, Perkins Loans (federal) and Dream Loans (CA).
Participates in the testing of financial software for upgrades and implementations as related to the position including such activities as testing transactions/data entry and data output.
Communicates established university policies and procedures to students, staff, faculty, and the general public, including those that require extensive interpretation.
Performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
Experience: Equivalent to four years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience which has provided the above knowledge and abilities.
Education: Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.

This position will have a duty to report to the Campus Title IX Officer information pertaining to victims of sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, dating/domestic violence, and stalking as required by CSU Executive Order 1095.
This position has been designated as a sensitive position with:
responsibility or access/possession of building master or sub-master keys for building access; and
This position is required to comply with confidentiality requirements outlined in the Department of Education’s Family Educational Rights and Privacy and California’s Educational Code Chapter 13 regarding sensitive student issues.
May require occasional evenings and/or weekend work.
Very busy office environment with frequent interruptions, standard equipment and tasks. Position requires working at a computer and desk for extended periods of time. May require travel between campus offices and off-campus locations.
Compensation and Benefits:
