The Associate Director of Student life provides overall strategic leadership, program development, and day-to-day management to the student life department, serving as the advisor for the Student Government Association and guidance to Registered Student Organizations. This position supports campus life, student engagement, student wellness, and student development and leadership through a variety of programs and services that promotes an experience for student success and retention. Student life works closely with the academic and counseling departments to ensure that their objectives are supported through co-curricular activities and programming. The ideal Associate Director is a creative, dynamic servant leader with a strong student development foundation and focus. This position requires excellent planning, organization, program development, and leadership abilities. It’s an exciting role for someone who wants to mentor student doctors.
This position requires a leader who is organized, compassionate, flexible, energetic, and relates well with high achieving students. The ideal candidate will have significant management experience as well as a demonstrated commitment to working students to provide events and programming to meet their educational, social and mental health goals while in medical school. The Associate Director of Student Life a 12-month position and reports directly to Assistant Dean for Student Administration at the NYITCOM at Arkansas State University site.
•Manage the daily operations of the Office of Student Life including the planning, budgeting, coordination and evaluation of activities, support services and programs for Student Government Association and all registered student organizations. •Work with the Assistant Dean and other faculty and department directors to ensure programmatic support of the academic mission •Work a flexible yet predictable schedule that is optimized for collegiality with students, faculty and staff. •Working with the Assistant Dean in coordinating the first year orientation program. •Manage the student aspect of Arkansas Graduation/Hooding Ceremony and White Ceremony including venue logistics, ordering and delivering of caps and gowns and white coats, selecting staffing for the event and organizing the students at the ceremonies. •Implement all NYITCOM polices under the direction of the Assistant Dean of Student Administration at the Arkansas State University site. •Manage, process and maintain all budgets for the SGA and organizations on campus. •Coordinate annual Donor Ceremony with Vice-chair of Anatomy.
Master's Degree preferred; 5-7 years experience in a college/university
