This position will provide strong statewide leadership in cultivating formal volunteer development programs within existing (i.e., 4-H Youth Development, Master Gardener and Master Naturalist programs) and new MU Extension programs to increase the capacity of the organization. From policy to process, this position will create a consistent framework for volunteer development, which includes but is not limited to engagement, training, technology, risk management, and retention. This position will employ multiple delivery systems to educate faculty and staff, youth, families, consumers, agencies, schools, and other entities. In addition, the position will collaborate with departments, agencies and stakeholders to coordinate resources and advance initiatives for long-term outcomes across the MU Extension system.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership for volunteer development initiatives through strategic partnerships within MU Extension, which includes volunteer recruitment processes, training programs, evaluation protocols, and direction to MU Extension faculty and staff who work with volunteers. Responsibilities include the 4-H Youth Development program, assuming volunteer development growth opportunities in other program areas. The integration of technology into all of these components is expected.
· Develop and implement a strategic plan for engaging Missourians to serve as volunteers and leaders for MU Extension programming. Assess and address statewide needs for volunteer development opportunities and initiate plans to link volunteers with statewide opportunities.
· Strengthen MU Extension network and capacity by developing volunteer training programs, researching strategies to improve volunteer retention and recruiting volunteer leaders to execute more skilled programs.
· Develop innovative recruitment and educational materials and design effective methods of delivery to reach diverse volunteer audiences.
· Develop partnerships with diverse community agencies and organizations.
· Develop grants and funding sources to assist with volunteer development support and sustainability. Monitor multiple project budgets and expenditures, and provide recommendations for utilization of funding.
· Create interest and enthusiasm for volunteer initiatives and coordinate efforts to increase visibility, marketing, and public relations.
· Commit to working at the regional and national level, such as serving on 4-H North Central Region volunteer development teams, in order to move MU Extension forward with regional and national priorities.
· Ensure that volunteer development programs are audience specific and implemented in accordance with MU Extension and MU policies.
· Work collaboratively with MU Extension staff to create an effective and meaningful volunteer development system.
· Oversee Extension and 4-H volunteer screening process.
· Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $47,476 - $65,468/annually
University Title: Senior Compliance Manager

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
