The office of Student Support Services at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Dentistry is seeking a Manager to assist with their student admissions to the dentistry programs.
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Review and process all application materials received for the DDS program Determine interview selections and coordinate interview day activities. Ensure successful matriculation of accepted students into program. Provide direction and recommendations regarding admissions criteria and enrollment trends.
Review and process all application materials received for the Reserved Admissions program. Coordinate interviews for candidates upon application submission and then coordinate ongoing support, programming, and final selection for students in program. Provide direction and recommendations regarding admissions criteria and enrollment trends.
Oversee the internal processes for the matriculation of admitted students (id numbers, axiom numbers, lockers, lab benches, etc.)
Direct programming to develop, support and engage students during undergraduate years who are part of the Kuwait / SOD Dental Partnership. Review application materials and finalization selection of students into DDS curriculum. Serve as liaison to Kuwait Embassy and UMKC International Student Affairs Office.
Direct the application process for BSDH students. Collaborate with program directors on application reviews, interviewing, selection, and matriculation.
Organize and prepare all materials for the DDS Admissions Committee. Communicate committee's decisions to candidates (accept, deny, alternate.)
Advise, counsel and communicate with prospective and actual applicants regarding career opportunities, admission requirements, DAT examination, tuition and financial aid, programs requirements, dental student experiences, and applicants strengths/weaknesses.
Provide tours to prospective students and visitors.
Assist in developing strategic plans for recruiting a diverse student body.
Develop and implement strategic plans to utilize social media and technology in student recruitment.
Supervise admissions staff and assign appropriate tasks.
Support and build relationships with pre-dental advisors and pre-dental/pre-health clubs. Serve as advisor for UMKC Pre-Dental Club.
Promote the profession and represent the Dental School at college fairs, career fairs, community events, pre-dental clubs, conferences and other recruiting activities.
Lead and plan programming details for events such as the DDS Information Session, Dental Student for a Day, Dental Lab Days, New Student Orientation, Mentor Orientation and Shadowing.
Support the efforts of the Office of Student Programs, School of Dentistry and UMKC through involvement on current and new initiatives such as scholarships, graduation, alumni events, and other school wide initiatives.
Serve as a liaison to the national dental application service, AADSAS, and UMKC Office of Admissions.
Lead department in understanding of centralized application services and application management systems (AADSAS, PASS, A-Client, WebAdmit).
Advise and participate in the Admissions Enhancement Program.
Monitor recruitment budget and recommend expenditures.
Actively serve on committees and represent the Office of Student Programs.
Partner with the Bio-Medical Communications department to develop and edit recruitment publications, newsletters, and web resources.
Oversee and maintain database for prospective students and manage the communication flow to prospective students.
Ensure proper organizing and transfer of applicant and matriculated student records.
Understand the legal implementations of the admissions process and maintain an awareness of the current legal challenges in the field. Provide direction to ensure our processes fall within the legal guidelines.
Coordinate admissions process for International Faculty DDS program.
Work at a high level with Microsoft Office Programs, especially Word, Excel, and Power Point
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Five years' experience in higher education admissions, recruiting, or advising in a Student Affairs/Enrollment Management office is preferred, as well as two years of supervisory experience.
Full Time/Part Time
This is a full-time, benefit eligible position.
Salary range is $47,476 - $62,950, commensurate with education and/or experience.
