The primary responsibility of the Academy of Advanced Manufacturing Application Engineer is the development and delivery of curriculum specifically intended for the program.
The objective of the Academy of Advanced Manufacturing is to increase the number of qualified people for manufacturing roles by training military veterans in the areas of Industrial Automation, Drives, Software, and instrumentation.
Responsibilities encompass both new and existing products and technologies in the area(s) of technological focus.
The scope of responsibility includes all CSM global competency operations. The Academy of Advanced Manufacturing Application Engineer also provides expert, backup field support for customer applications. The position requires approximately 5% of travel, primarily domestic, develop technical expertise, and provide technical leadership within CSM on Rockwell Automation products and technologies.
The scope of technical expertise would include analysis of application requirements; development of solution architectures; product application; system engineering/design; installation support; start-up, system integration and tuning; and troubleshooting, diagnosis and problem resolution as appropriate for the industrial automation products and technologies.
Additional responsibilities include:
Building and maintaining lab equipment pursuant to the facilitation of learning
Creating evaluation material to properly evaluate the learning obtained throughout the program
Provide professional counselling through interview prep and skills to prepare the student for job placement
Managing classroom and lab activities
Provide recommendations to the program manager regarding changes to the curriculum, projects, or equipment
Proctor customer assessments when necessary.
Maintaining a positive outlook for students pertaining to the products and curriculum.
Provide expert, backup field support for customer applications, including applications implementing newly release products, complex applications and new product applications experiencing product problems/deficiencies.
