Posting Department The incumbent is primarily accountable for the planning, implementation and operation of the Accounting Department in meeting the needs of the organization. The Director will provide leadership and expertise in the management of the department, while being accountable for human resource management, financial management, and quality management in support of the mission, vision and strategic objectives of YRMC. Provides leadership and oversite to all aspects of the financial cycle ensuring optimal performance in collection and analysis of financial data. Responsible for effective operations of all Accounting (financial accounting, general ledger, payroll and accounts payable functions) and working with outside auditors to ensure the proper presentation of financial statements. The Controller is responsible for the preparation of tax returns and other government reports. Reports to Administrative Director of Finance.

Posting Department Description General Accounting and Decision Support departments work collaboratively within Yuma Regional Medical Center and affiliated organizations to provide financial services. Affiliated organizations include: Yuma Healthcare Services (for profit durable medical equipment company, outpatient laboratory, and Medical Services Organization); Desert Healthcare Services (for profit partnership with physicians owning three ambulatory clinics); Yuma Rehabilitation Hospital (joint venture with HealthSouth, 42-bed acute rehab center); Yuma Regional Outpatient Surgical Center (stand-alone Ambulatory Surgery Center); Professional Services Group (physician clinics and practice management); Cancer Center Physicians; and multiple partnerships such as Heart Center/Cath. Lab, Wound Care, Dialysis, Therapies, Hospitalists, etc. In addition to providing standard financial reports provided to the organization, as service departments, we strive to provide excellent customer service in providing budget reports, budgeting assistance, and departmental monthly reports for such things as expenses and productivity and other information important to leaders in the performance of their duties. Other responsibilities include Payroll, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Subsidiary Accounting, Chargemaster, and a host of other duties.
