Manages the District's maintenance program and coordinates and directs staff in the installation, maintenance and repair functions in the areas of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, grounds, building, automotive, and warehousing of equipment, at a major secondary and tertiary wastewater treatment plant, including pumping facilities and outlying area treatment systems.
This class provides service center level management over a broad-based program of maintenance and repair for District equipment, buildings, facilities, automotive, and warehousing functions. A variety of crafts and trades are involved, and staff may act individually or in crews or teams to ensure that equipment and facilities are functioning safely and effectively. In addition to providing management oversight, the work involves such functions as developing and implementing policies and procedures and ensuring the overall effectiveness of the assigned areas of responsibility. This class is distinguished from the Deputy General Manager in that the latter has day-to-day management responsibility for all operational services activities and functions.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
This position reports to the Deputy General Manager, Operations/WRD. The incumbent provides service center level management over maintenance and repair of District equipment, buildings, facilities, automotive, and warehousing functions through District staff and contracted services. This class is distinguished from the Deputy General Manager, Operations/WRD who oversees all WRD operations, maintenance, design, construction and laboratory facilities for the District.

Education and Experience: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in business or public administration or a field related to the work AND five (5) years full-time experience in the maintenance and repair of major commercial, industrial or public facilities preferably in a wastewater/water facility, including three (3) years of supervisory/management experience. Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered.
Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of appointment.
Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.
Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
