The Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, is accepting applications for a part time, leading to full time, 12 month, faculty position.
The Dental Hygiene Program is a Division within the Department of Advanced Oral Sciences and Therapeutics and was founded in 1970. The Dental School is an integral part of The University of Maryland Health Sciences campus for the professions. The Dental School shares the campus with the schools of law, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, social work, and graduate studies. The University educates a majority of the region's health care, legal, and social service practitioners. The campus location within the Baltimore-Washington-Annapolis triangle maximizes opportunities for collaboration with government agencies, health care institutions, and life sciences industries.
The Dental Hygiene Program is comprised of a traditional Baccalaureate degree, and a degree completion Baccalaureate program. Being housed in the dental school dental hygiene students are afforded the opportunity for shared learning collaboration with dental students and dental and dental hygiene faculty. The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) campus also supports interprofessional education among the schools on campus, enabling students to approach care collaboratively.
Position responsibilities will include the delivery of didactic material through innovative and on-line methodologies, clinical teaching, student advising, research, scholarly and service activities. Educational requirements: A minimum of a Masters degree with a Doctoral degree preferred. Previous teaching and scholarly experience in a dental hygiene program preferred.
